About Me

Hi, I’m Sue ,

I genuinely love helping people improve their relationships with themselves and with others. In our sessions, we gently unravel thoughts, explore emotions, and work together to build greater self-understanding and resilience—all in a grounded, comfortable, safe space.

My approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and person-centred. That means we go at your pace, with no pressure or expectation. I’m here to provide consistent, compassionate support as we delve into what’s happening beneath the surface — whether it’s grief, addiction, anxiety, people-pleasing, or just the burden of life feeling overwhelming.

MY APPROACH

How I Work

Counselling isn’t about fixing you — it’s about supporting you to better understand your inner world and find new ways to care for yourself, from the inside out.

    • Person-Centred Therapy

    • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Polyvagal Theory

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

These modalities are woven together depending on what feels most helpful in the moment — always with gentleness, respect, and collaboration at the core.

A Little More About Me

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent 16 years running my first business, a gift shop in Kirribilli called Ginger Flower. This experience taught me a great deal about the importance of community and connection, shaping how I now create space for others. I want each session to feel like a soft landing—a place where you can breathe, be authentic, and feel supported.

While studying for my Bachelor of Counselling, I had the wonderful opportunity to volunteer at Redfern Jarjum College for three impactful years.

I also currently work and volunteer at The Overcomers Place, co-facilitating DBT groups and supporting the intake of new clients.

It's a genuine privilege to assist individuals on their recovery journeys. Outside of therapy, I’m a mum, a lifelong learner, and a curious person. I love yoga, and exploring new cultures, and I dream of one day learning pottery.

The Heart of My Work

I believe in honouring each client’s inner wisdom — even if it doesn’t feel accessible yet. We all carry pain, but we also carry the capacity to heal. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start, you’re welcome here. Let’s explore it together.
